Florian Coldea spotted in Albania amid Vlora Hyseni investigation

Former Romanian intelligence official Florian Coldea has reportedly been seen in Tirana, Albania, following the suspension and house arrest of Albanian intelligence chief Vlora Hyseni.

Hyseni is under investigation by the Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK) for allegedly disclosing state secrets and favoring a businessman suspected of leading an organized criminal group. Some reports suggest a professional link between the two, with allegations that Coldea may have provided operational training to Hyseni during his tenure as an advisor to Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Coldea, a former deputy head of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), has faced previous scrutiny in Romania involving allegations of corruption and, more recently, investigations related to drug trafficking and money laundering. His presence in Albania has raised questions regarding potential involvement in the reorganization of Albanian intelligence services amidst the ongoing scandal.
