Florian König discusses Michael Schumacher family privacy

Sports moderator Florian König has addressed the ongoing lack of public information regarding the health of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher. Speaking on the “Phrasenmäher” podcast, König explained his decision to respect the privacy requested by Schumacher’s family.

König, who has known Schumacher for decades, stated that the family, particularly his wife Corinna, made it clear early on that no further information regarding his condition would be released. He noted that he deliberately avoids asking Schumacher’s brother, Ralf, or his son, Mick, about his health status to maintain his close relationship with the family.

Schumacher suffered a life-threatening traumatic brain injury during a skiing accident in late 2013. He has since been undergoing rehabilitation in Switzerland, where he has resided with his family since 1996. No current updates on his medical status have been made public.
