ARD confirms third Silvester-Schlagerbooom show with Florian Silbereisen
ARD has confirmed that Florian Silbereisen will host the ‘Silvester-Schlagerbooom’ for a third consecutive year. Following the high viewership of previous editions, which drew between 4.55 and 4.65 million viewers, the broadcaster has decided to make the show a recurring tradition.
The 2027 production is scheduled to take place live from the BMW Park, the basketball arena of FC Bayern in Munich. The program is expected to air on New Year's Eve at 20:15, broadcasting to audiences in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland via ARD, ORF, and SRF.
In contrast to ARD's expansion of the format, ZDF is changing its New Year's Eve programming. The broadcaster has decided to discontinue its traditional live New Year's Eve show hosted by Johannes B. Kerner and Andrea Kiewel, opting instead for a pre-recorded special of ‘Der Quiz-Champion’.
