Florianópolis achieves 100% elevator coverage in public bus fleet

Florianópolis has achieved a milestone in urban mobility by ensuring its entire conventional public transport fleet is equipped with elevators. This transition was completed this week following the arrival of two new heavy-duty buses, which replaced older vehicles that lacked accessibility systems.

In addition to elevators, the fleet features ramps, preferential seating, and dedicated spaces for wheelchair users. The new vehicles are extra-heavy models, measuring 15 meters in length and weighing 22 tons, featuring a third directional axle to improve maneuverability and safety during urban turns.
