French Film Festival Brazil enters 17th edition
The 17th edition of the French Film Festival Brazil begins on October 29 and runs until November 11, featuring 21 productions across more than 50 cities. The program includes a mix of recent releases and classics, with several films having previously screened at major international festivals such as Cannes, Venice, and Locarno.
In major hubs like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, a delegation of seven French professionals, including actresses Alexandra Lamy and Pauline Clément, and actors Benoît Magimel, will participate in special sessions and debates. Notable titles include “De Gaulle: A France Libre,” which explores the French resistance during the Nazi occupation, and the 1966 classic “The Great Escape.”
In addition to film screenings, the festival includes educational activities, such as an open lecture by directors Marc Fitoussi and Pierre Salvadori at the Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP) in São Paulo.
