Florianópolis educators share breast cancer journeys

Two educators from the municipal school system in Florianópolis are sharing their personal experiences with breast cancer to highlight the importance of medical monitoring and support networks during Pink October.

Fabiâni Rodrigues, a 50-year-old teacher, is currently undergoing investigations after a recent mammogram indicated a possibility of malignancy. She is awaiting a biopsy at the Centro de Pesquisas Oncológicas (CEPON). Despite the uncertainty, Rodrigues emphasizes her resilience and the importance of family support.

Maria Aparecida, 62, provides a different perspective as a survivor who has already completed treatment. Together, the educators advocate for the necessity of information, regular medical follow-ups, and strong emotional support systems for those facing the disease.
