Florianópolis gas station closed due to diesel leak and corrosion

The Municipal Procon of Florianópolis has ordered the precautionary closure of a gas station in the Santinho neighborhood on Monday (17). The decision follows an inspection that revealed several irregularities posing imminent risks to consumers, workers, and pedestrians.

Inspectors identified a fuel leak from a diesel pump, a critical issue due to the flammable nature of the product. Additionally, the station's roof support structures were found to be in an advanced state of corrosion due to rust.

Procon Director Tiago Silva stated that the situation was unacceptable, noting that the agency would not wait for an accident to occur before acting. The establishment must remain closed until all technical requirements are met, damages are repaired, and safety conditions are proven to be restored.
