Florianópolis hosts Maratona Internacional with 19,000 athletes
Various sporting and regional events are taking place across Brazil. In Florianópolis, the Maratona Internacional de Floripa is expected to draw 19,000 athletes from 26 countries, generating an estimated R$ 100 million in economic impact. The event, which features 42km, 21km, and 5km races, will cause significant traffic changes, including specific vehicle access hours for the Ponte Hercílio Luz.
Other regional activities include the 39th Corrida Duque de Caxias in Jacobina, the 2nd Cicloturismo in Ilhéus, and the 27th Volta Ciclística de Santa Catarina. In Balneário Piçarras, Olympic volleyball champion Fabiana Claudino will lead a specialized volleyball camp. Additionally, the 2nd Gastronomic Festival in Governador Celso Ramos aims to boost tourism through a circuit of 17 local restaurants.
Political activities are also underway, with several candidates for state and federal deputies launching campaign committees or appearing in recent polls in Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, and Rio Grande do Norte.
