Florianópolis launches free Formiguinha bus line 723
The municipality of Florianópolis started a test operation on Monday, March 3, of a new free Formiguinha bus line, numbered 723. The route connects the Morro da Penitenciária neighbourhood with the Terminal de Integração da Trindade (TITRI) and will remain in a trial phase until September 6, during which passenger demand and operational performance will be evaluated.
Line 723 runs every day of the week with roughly 30‑minute intervals. On weekdays the first departure from TITRI is at 06:00 and the last at 23:00; service continues on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays with the same schedule. The line also allows boarding and alighting at permitted points along the route, not only at designated bus stops, to increase convenience and safety for residents.
Mayor Topázio Neto highlighted the initiative as part of the city’s effort to make public transport more accessible, while Infrastructure Secretary Rafael Hahne said the trial will help refine the service and expand the Formiguinha system, which already serves other underserved areas of the city.
