Florianópolis opens summer beach vendor applications with new restrictions
The Florianópolis City Hall has opened applications for individual street vendors and service providers to operate on the city's beaches during the 2026/2027 summer season. The new public notice introduces changes to authorized modalities to improve organization, security, and inspection. Notably, the new regulations exclude cocktail, beer, wine, and sparkling wine carts, as well as the sale of clothing and beachwear via stalls. These adjustments follow previous issues with clandestine commerce and the falsification of permits.
The Florianópolis Business Association (ACIF) is advocating for stricter regulation of street commerce, particularly in the Canasvieiras area. ACIF has proposed a temporary suspension of new notices for certain modalities—including beverage carts, clothing sales, and food carts—until a technical evaluation and integrated planning for the coastline are completed.
The association emphasizes the need for rigorous sanitary inspections, clear identification of authorized sellers, and fair competition for permanent local businesses that pay taxes and maintain year-round operations. ACIF suggests that following the organizational model implemented in Jurerê last season could help improve control and curb irregularities.
