Floriculturists gain access to first European agricultural funds
The Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR) has released a guide for floriculturists to access European funding for the first time. Under the DR-18 measure, producers can apply for support of up to 100,000 euros per project to fund farm development, machinery acquisition, and storage facilities.
While the individual grant amount is significant, producers have expressed concerns regarding the total budget. The allocated 5 million euros is considered insufficient by some, as it may only benefit approximately 50 producers out of an estimated 5,000 floriculturists in Romania. Additionally, the current guidelines exclude natural persons (individuals), limiting eligibility to legal entities such as cooperatives and registered companies.
