Florida and Duke lead preseason college basketball rankings

Florida and Duke have emerged as the primary favorites for the upcoming college basketball season, according to various preseason power rankings and betting markets. The Florida Gators have been named the Associated Press preseason No. 1 team, bolstered by the return of seniors Thomas Haugh, Alex Condon, and Rueben Chinyelu. This veteran frontcourt provides significant continuity for the program.

While Florida holds the top spot in some rankings, Duke leads the VSiN preseason power rankings. Chris Dortch, publisher of the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, noted that Duke appeared exceptionally strong following a recent scrimmage victory over Tennessee. Betting platforms such as DraftKings and Circa Sports also place Florida and Duke as the top title favorites, with a significant gap between them and the rest of the field.
