Florida Attorney General pursues child abuse charges and AI lawsuit

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has announced two major legal actions targeting the sexual exploitation of children. First, 26-year-old Jerry Jesus Reyes of Kissimmee faces 100 felony counts related to the possession and transmission of child sexual abuse material and depictions of sexual activity involving animals. The criminal investigation was initiated following a Cyber Tipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Simultaneously, the Office of Statewide Prosecution filed a civil lawsuit against Rengstorff Consulting Ltd., the operator of the A2E artificial intelligence platform. The lawsuit alleges deceptive trade practices, claiming the company’s software enables the creation of illicit imagery involving minors and allows users to ‘nudify’ non-consenting individuals despite claims of prohibiting such content.
