Florida authorities arrest 281 in massive child predator and trafficking sting

A seven-day undercover operation in Polk County, Florida, dubbed “Operation Polk Around and Find Out II,” resulted in the arrest of 281 individuals. The multi-agency effort targeted two primary areas: adults attempting to meet minors for sexual purposes and human trafficking networks.

The operation led to 488 new criminal charges, including 198 felonies. Among those arrested were 17 employees from local theme parks, specifically 13 from Walt Disney World and four from Universal Studios. Seven of these employees face charges related to child sexual abuse. Other notable arrests included a youth football coach, an Orange County deputy, and an active-duty Navy sailor.

Authorities reported that the suspects had a combined criminal history of 798 prior charges. During the sting, detectives seized 24 firearms and charged 32 individuals with possession of drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl. Additionally, 11 victims of human trafficking were identified.

Of the detainees, 32 were identified as undocumented immigrants from various countries, including Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, and Haiti. Sixteen of these individuals were transferred to the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
