Florida cities lead U.S. in restaurant reservation no-shows
A report from OpenTable reveals that Florida contains five of the ten U.S. cities with the highest proportion of restaurant reservation no-shows. The cities identified include Miami, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, and Orlando.
Industry operators estimate that a missed reservation for two people results in an average cost of approximately $80. The report notes that 28% of surveyed diners admitted to missing a reservation without canceling at least once in the past year. While Florida leads in no-shows, the state also contains cities with the lowest rates, such as Naples and Sarasota.
