Florida coach Jon Sumrall reacts to officiating and Ole Miss odds

Florida head coach Jon Sumrall addressed several topics following the Gators' 44-39 victory over Auburn. Sumrall noted that the SEC confirmed the officiating crew ‘got some calls wrong’ during the matchup, where Florida was penalized 16 times for 138 yards.

Looking ahead to Week 4, the 21st-ranked Florida Gators (3-0) are currently favored by 3.5 points to win against No. 4 Ole Miss in Gainesville. Sumrall expressed surprise at the betting lines, quipping, ‘There’s a lot of good drugs out there’ when discussing the oddsmakers' decision to favor Florida over the highly-ranked Rebels.

While Florida's offense has been productive, Sumrall emphasized that the team must improve significantly to compete with an Ole Miss squad that features quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and receiver Deuce Alexander. Auburn defensive coordinator DJ Durkin attributed his team's defensive struggles in the loss to emotional mistakes and missed tackles.
