Florida collegiate volleyball teams secure key victories

Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball secured two conference victories over the weekend, defeating Queens and West Florida. These wins bring the Eagles to a 3-0 record in Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) play and a 6-7 overall record.

In the match against Queens, FGCU won in straight sets. Despite an early lead by the Royals, the Eagles utilized a 4-0 run to take control of the first set and maintained momentum through the third set to complete the sweep.

Florida State University volleyball defeated Jacksonville 3-1 to extend its home winning streak to four matches. The Seminoles recorded 55 kills and 69 digs during the match. Key performances included Kyleene Filimaua with 16 kills and Emma Lilo, who recorded 43 assists.
