Florida football coach delays starting quarterback decision ahead of Georgia game
Florida head coach Jon Sumrall has not yet named a starting quarterback for the upcoming matchup against No. 3 Georgia. The decision involves a competition between Tramell Jones Jr. and Aaron Philo.
Jones Jr. recently earned his first career start during an upset victory over Texas, where he completed 22 of 35 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Philo, who missed the Texas game due to a shoulder injury, has returned to practice and is available for selection.
Sumrall stated that he believes in both players and intends to make a final decision mid-week. The coach emphasized the importance of the rivalry against Georgia while noting that the fundamental requirements for winning the game remain the same.
