Florida health programs provide community CPR and stroke training
Public health initiatives in Florida are focusing on community preparedness for cardiac emergencies. The Orlando Fire Department is hosting free Hands-Only CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training at the Walt Disney Amphitheatre on September 29, 2026, in recognition of World Heart Day. The event, part of the Take Heart Orlando program, will also offer free blood pressure checks.
In Miami, schools are participating in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. These programs aim to equip students, families, and educators with the ability to call 911, perform Hands-Only CPR, and recognize stroke warning signs. Since 2021, these nationwide service-learning programs have reached over 1.1 million participants to improve survival outcomes during out-of-hospital medical emergencies.
