Brittany Clark killed in Florida alligator attack as boyfriend battles predator

31‑year‑old Brittany Clark was mauled to death by a large alligator while swimming in the Econlockhatchee River within Little Big Econ State Forest, central Florida, on 28 June 2026. Clark and her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and a friend entered the shallow three‑foot water when a 12‑13‑foot alligator lunged, seizing both of Clark’s arms. The 911 call captured the distress, with the caller pleading, “Bad, real bad please, hurry… she’s losing a lot of blood…”. Allison fought the reptile, attempting to free Clark, but the animal’s “death roll” left one arm completely severed and the other barely attached. Clark died en route to the hospital from massive blood loss.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) later captured and euthanized two alligators measuring 12‑13 ft, sending DNA samples for analysis. FWC spokesperson Chad Weber said, “She was bitten on both arms. The boyfriend was the one that made the phone call.” The incident is the third alligator attack in central Florida within a week, prompting renewed warnings about swimming in natural waterways during the mating season.

Allison posted on social media that he is “falling apart” and vowed to care for Clark’s pets while the family mourns.
