Florida inaugurates new public space near Hipódromo Park

The city of Florida is inaugurating a new public space near the Parque Hipódromo Irineo Leguisamo following the completion of works on Avenida Hipódromo. The project, which involved an investment exceeding 10 million pesos and was co-financed by the Fondo de Desarrollo del Interior, aims to improve urban infrastructure and provide new areas for recreation, sports, and community gathering.

Key improvements include the paving of approximately 7,000 square meters of the access avenue, including new drainage solutions, and the construction of a 530-meter pedestrian path equipped with 58 new streetlights. The area now features a calisthenics station, rustic games, fire pits, and a new plaza containing a 3x3 basketball court, children's playground, urban furniture, and an amphitheater.

As part of the inauguration, a new equestrian mosaic mural titled ‘Irineo Leguisamo’ will be unveiled at the Harrison Street entrance. Created by Taller Reciclarte, the artwork serves as a tribute to a prominent figure in Rioplatense horse racing history.
