Florida Machete Fight in Publix Parking Lot Leads to Arrests

On Tuesday, two men, James Gay (35) and Everette Krichbabum, engaged in a violent confrontation in the parking lot of a Publix grocery store in Florida. According to an affidavit, Gay approached Krichbabum with a machete after a verbal dispute, while Krichbabum allegedly drew a knife from its sheath. The struggle left both men with hand injuries and Krichbabum unconscious.

Both were taken to a hospital and subsequently arrested by local law enforcement on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Gay, who was released from prison in 2024 after serving 12 years for his role in a 2011 “vampire cult” murder of 16‑year‑old Jacob Hendershot, has a history of violent offenses.
