Florida man arrested for DUI and cocaine possession

Charles Ducking, a 76-year-old man from Lake Wales, Florida, was arrested following a traffic stop on US Highway 27 in Waverly. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed Ducking swerving and noted signs of impairment, including slurred speech and watery eyes.

Ducking reportedly admitted to the deputy that his driver’s license was suspended due to a previous DUI arrest in May. He also allegedly showed the deputy a thermal cup containing rum and later admitted to having used cocaine approximately 10 minutes before the stop. Deputies discovered a small container of cocaine inside his vehicle.

Breath tests indicated blood alcohol concentration levels of .094 and .095, which exceed Florida’s legal limit of .08. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd stated that Ducking is lucky he has not yet killed himself or someone else while driving under the influence.
