Florida man convicted of stealing $760,000 in Tiffany & Co. jewelry

Jaythan Gilder has been convicted of robbery and grand theft following a heist at a Tiffany & Co. store in Orlando, Florida. In February 2025, Gilder gained access to the luxury retailer at the Mall at Millenia by posing as a representative for an Orlando Magic player.

During the robbery, Gilder seized two sets of earrings valued at $160,000 and $609,500. Prosecutors stated that he used force against a store employee while fleeing the scene. To conceal the evidence, Gilder swallowed the jewelry.

Following a pursuit by the Florida Highway Patrol, Gilder was apprehended. Although initially unable to locate the stolen items, detectives discovered the earrings via a body scan after Gilder made comments regarding the contents of his stomach while in custody.
