Florida Panthers make NHL history with consecutive natural hat tricks

The Florida Panthers defeated the Seattle Kraken 8-3 on Saturday night, setting an NHL record as the first team to record natural hat tricks in three consecutive games. Carter Verhaeghe secured the latest feat with a natural hat trick, following Brady Tkachuk’s natural hat tricks in the team’s previous two victories against the Columbus Blue Jackets and Vancouver Canucks.

In addition to Verhaeghe’s performance, Sam Bennett also recorded a hat trick during the rout. The Panthers have now recorded four hat tricks within their first nine games of the season, a feat unmatched in over a century.

Other contributors for Florida included Niko Mikkola and Sam Reinhart, while Matthew Tkachuk provided three assists. For Seattle, goals were scored by Freddy Gaudreau, Shane Wright, and Ryker Evans.
