Florida Panthers' trade offer for Connor Hellebuyck rejected by Winnipeg Jets

Details have emerged regarding a significant trade offer made by the Florida Panthers to the Winnipeg Jets for goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Panthers proposed a package that included forward Evan Rodrigues, two 2026 first-round draft picks (9th and 25th overall), and an additional roster player, excluding center Anton Lundell.

The Winnipeg Jets rejected the proposal, reportedly deeming the package insufficient, specifically due to the Panthers' refusal to include Lundell. Following the failed attempt to acquire Hellebuyck, the Panthers pivoted their strategy. They utilized the draft assets previously mentioned to acquire Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk and later secured veteran goaltender Jacob Markstrom from the New Jersey Devils to stabilize their net.

While Hellebuyck has expressed a desire to be traded, the Jets continue to seek an ideal deal. Rumors currently link the goaltender to teams such as Buffalo or Carolina, though no agreement is imminent.
