Florida parent charged with felony battery on school bus driver

A Florida parent, Lisa Brown, 32, has been charged with felony battery following an incident involving an Escambia County school bus. The confrontation reportedly began after a Bellview Middle School student was missed during a morning pickup because the student was in the driver’s blind spot.

According to Escambia County Public Schools Transportation Director Darlene Hart, Brown allegedly threatened retaliation against the school. When the bus returned that afternoon, Brown reportedly boarded the vehicle without authorization, yelled at the driver, threw water from a bottle, and then struck the driver with the bottle.

Despite the incident, the driver chose to remain on her route, stating she did not want to leave her students. Brown was arrested on September 11 and released on a $1,000 bond.
