Florida Pride festivals face varying financial and community landscapes
LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations in Florida are seeing both large-scale community gatherings and significant financial challenges. In Orlando, the 22nd annual Come Out With Pride festival took place at Lake Eola Park, featuring drag performances, resource booths for gender-affirming care, and various community organizations.
In contrast, St. Pete Pride is facing a nearly $300,000 funding deficit as it prepares for its 25th anniversary in 2027. Organization president Trent Brock noted that Senate Bill 1134, which limits government support for DEI programs, has already impacted the festival by causing sponsors to reduce or withdraw their contributions. The organization is aiming to raise $289,000 by November 30 to stabilize its finances and ensure the continuation of the event.
