In the gubernatorial contest, Republican Byron Donalds secured the party's nomination with approximately 47.8 percent of the vote, backed by Donald Trump. He will face Democrat David Jolly in the November general election. Donalds, who has a campaign fund exceeding $100 million, aims to potentially become the first Black governor of a Southern state.

In the Democratic U.S. Senate primary, progressive state lawmaker Angie Nixon achieved a major upset by defeating the heavily favored, establishment-backed Alexander Vindman. Nixon, who ran a campaign with significantly less funding than Vindman, secured the nomination to challenge the Republican-held seat.

Other notable outcomes include Republican Ashley Moody securing her nomination for the U.S. Senate with 80 percent of the vote. In the 19th Congressional District Republican primary, Jim Schwartzel won the nomination with 29.2 percent of the vote, defeating Trump-endorsed Catalina Lauf, who received 21.8 percent.
