Florida Republicans lead in key statewide election polls

Recent polling indicates Republican candidates are leading in several key Florida statewide races, including the contests for governor and U.S. Senate. While Republicans maintain an advantage, analysts note that these races appear more competitive than previous election cycles.

In the race to succeed term-limited Governor Ron DeSantis, U.S. Representative Byron Donalds leads former U.S. Representative David Jolly by an average of 4.7 percentage points across multiple polls. In the U.S. Senate race, Ashley Moody leads state Representative Angie Nixon by an average of 6.7 points.

Other Republican leads were noted in the races for attorney general and commissioner of agriculture. The contest for chief financial officer remains the tightest, with incumbent Blaise Ingoglia and Democratic challenger Annette Taddeo polling at 43% each.

Regarding policy issues, likely voters identified healthcare as a top priority, followed by fuel prices, housing affordability, and government spending. Additionally, a property tax relief amendment (Amendment 3) shows support above the 60% threshold required for passage, with 63% of likely voters favoring the measure.
