Florida School Board Elections Highlight Candidates in Flagler and Duval Counties

Incumbent Christy Chong is seeking reelection to the Flagler County School Board District 4 seat. She faces challengers Ron Long and former board member Trevor Tucker. The nonpartisan primary is scheduled for August 18, with a runoff on November 3 if no candidate reaches a majority.

In Duval County, the District 6 school board race features five candidates after incumbent Charlotte Joyce announced she will not run again. The leading fundraiser is former law‑enforcement officer Clarence James, who emphasizes school safety, literacy, and budget reform. Other contenders include Lindsey Denmark, Michelle Perry, Robert Stafford and Tammyette Thomas. The same August 18 primary and November 3 runoff dates apply.
