Florida Sheriffs Association Names Billy Woods President and Highlights $22,777 Employee Donation

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office employees contributed $22,777 to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, bringing the department’s total donations to the program to about $226,777 since 2017. Sheriff Rick Staly presented the check to Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods at the Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference.

The Florida Sheriffs Association announced its 2026‑2027 leadership slate, naming Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods as the new President. Woods, a 36‑year law‑enforcement veteran, succeeded former President Dennis Lemma. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly was appointed Vice President, with additional officers filling the roles of Secretary, Treasurer, Chair, and Vice Chair. The association, founded in 1893, represents all 67 Florida sheriffs and supports initiatives such as the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, which serve at‑risk children across the state.
