Florida State defeats New Mexico State 34-17 in season opener

Defensively, the Seminoles limited the Aggies to 47 rushing yards, but struggled to contain the passing game. New Mexico State quarterback Trey Hedden completed 26 of 42 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Following the game, linebacker Chris Jones stated that the defensive unit did not meet the team’s established standards.
