Florida teacher Brooke Anderson sued by victim of sexual abuse

A former Florida biology teacher, Brooke Anderson, is facing a civil lawsuit from a former student she sexually abused. Anderson, 28, is currently serving a 30-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of unlawful sexual activity.

The lawsuit alleges that Anderson began grooming the student at Riverview High School in Tampa starting in 2021. While the relationship initially appeared innocuous, the legal complaint states that Anderson began sending graphic, sexual text messages during the student's junior year. This behavior escalated to the student's senior year, involving the transmission of sexually provocative images.

The victim, who was below the legal age of consent in Florida at the time of the abuse, claims the “heinous sex acts” caused permanent psychological damage and led him to lose his faith in God. The legal representative for the student is seeking $100,000 in damages.
