Florida woman arrested for alleged animal cruelty
Malia Nummerdor, a 38-year-old mother of two, has been arrested in Charlotte County, Florida, following allegations of sexual contact with the family dog. The incident was captured on home security cameras installed by her husband, Erik, who had set up the system to detect potential intruders.
During questioning, Nummerdor admitted to being partially nude in the footage but denied the sexual contact allegations, claiming she was “just petting the dog.” She was released on bail and is awaiting a court hearing scheduled for October 19.
In response to the arrest, friends of Nummerdor launched a $30,000 fundraising campaign on the SupportNow platform. The campaign aims to cover legal defense costs and provide for the family's immediate needs, asserting that the charges are unfounded and that the situation has upended the lives of Nummerdor and her children. Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell described the alleged behavior as “disgusting” and stated that no animal should be subjected to such treatment.
