Florida woman charged with bank fraud and smuggling cash into jail

Moniquie Love Turnbull, a 31-year-old woman from Miami, faces multiple charges following an alleged bank fraud scheme targeting a senior citizen in Martin County, Florida.

According to the Martin County Sheriff's Office, Turnbull posed as a bank representative and visited an elderly resident's home, claiming their account had been compromised. She reportedly offered to take the victim's debit card for disposal, but the resident contacted law enforcement. Deputies subsequently arrested Turnbull after being alerted to a second related call.

Turnbull has been charged with scheme to defraud, felony use of a two-way communication device, and fraudulent use of a credit or debit card involving a victim aged 60 or older. Additionally, during the jail booking process, authorities discovered $3,200 in cash hidden in a female body cavity. This discovery led to an additional charge of introducing contraband into a corrections facility. The source of the cash remains unclear, but officials confirmed the funds have been secured as evidence.
