Florida youth football game ends in parent brawl amid gambling probe

A youth football game in Winter Haven, Florida, ended in a mass brawl among parents following a U8 contest between the HOA 30 Kartel and the Plant City Colts Certified Strikers. The altercation reportedly began after an unidentified parent allegedly struck a Plant City coach on the head following a 16-0 shutout.

Video footage shows parents scuffling and throwing punches while children fled the scene. One individual was observed appearing to carry a bat. Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies eventually intervened to break up the fight.

Authorities are investigating whether the brawl was linked to illegal gambling occurring on the sidelines. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd issued a warning regarding such conduct, stating that law enforcement will use undercover tactics to identify and arrest those gambling at youth sporting events. While no immediate arrests were made, those involved may face disorderly conduct charges, with additional penalties if evidence of illegal betting is uncovered.
