Floridsdorfer Bridge in Vienna to fully reopen September 5

The Floridsdorfer Bridge in Vienna is scheduled to fully reopen to traffic on September 5, 2026. The bridge, which crosses the Danube between the Floridsdorf and Brigittenau districts, has undergone extensive renovation to address wear on its 47-year-old structure.

Key works included the replacement of six expansion joints totaling approximately 200 meters in length, as well as repairs to the bridge's framework, abutments, and supports. Additionally, the tram tracks for line 31 were renovated during the construction period. The project was completed on schedule, ensuring that cars, cyclists, and public transport services will have unrestricted access by the start of the school year.
