Floripa Airport and TAP Air Portugal receive major travel awards

The World Travel Awards 2026 has recognized several major players in the aviation and travel sectors. Floripa Airport, managed by Zurich Airport Brasil, was named South America’s Leading Airport for the first time. The terminal, which competes for the title of best airport in the world, was selected over other major regional hubs including El Dorado in Bogotá and Jorge Chávez in Lima.

In the airline sector, TAP Air Portugal received multiple honors, including being named the best European airline for both South America and Africa. The airline is currently expanding its network, with a new route scheduled to connect Portugal to São Luís, Maranhão, in October 2026. TAP also received awards for having the best European airline website and the best European airline for corporate travel and events.
