Florissant detective dragged by suspect's car during arrest attempt
A Florissant police detective sustained minor injuries after being dragged by a suspect's vehicle during an attempted arrest at a gas station on Page Avenue. The incident occurred while detectives were attempting to take a man into custody on felony warrants.
During the confrontation, the suspect placed the vehicle in reverse, dragging a 47-year-old detective who had been on the force for 23 years. As the suspect fled the scene, a second detective, aged 41, fired a single round through the vehicle's rear window. The suspect abandoned the car approximately one mile away and was apprehended early Tuesday in St. Charles County.
Florissant Police Chief Tim Fagan has requested that the St. Louis County Police Department investigate the incident. The injured officer was treated at a hospital and released on Monday night.
