Flowers of Colombia to host community initiative in Fernandina Beach

Flowers of Colombia, the brand of the Colombian Association of Flower Exporters (Asocolflores), is launching a community initiative in Fernandina Beach, Florida, this August. Supported by the Society of American Florists (SAF), That Flower Feeling, and the City of Fernandina Beach, the program coincides with SAF’s 141st Annual Convention held on Amelia Island.

During the event, floral industry professionals are expected to create approximately 200 small floral arrangements from Colombian flowers to be distributed to local residents. Scheduled for August 21 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, the activities include a hands-on workshop for senior citizens.

Additional arrangements will be provided to seniors, local police officers, and firefighters, with plans to involve first responders in delivering flowers to the surrounding neighborhood. Laura Valdivieso, President of Asocolflores, stated the goal is to use flowers to create happiness and bring people together.
