Flowra and KorDA partner to explore gold-backed collateral for Solana

Solana infrastructure firm Flowra and Korea Gold Exchange Digital Asset (KorDA) have signed a 12-month memorandum of understanding to explore using gold-backed digital assets as collateral for Solana validator operations.

The proposed model involves using KGLD, a gold-backed digital asset managed by KorDA or an affiliate, to secure Solana (SOL) tokens. These secured tokens would then be delegated to network validators via Flowra’s infrastructure. This initiative aims to connect real-world assets (RWAs) directly with blockchain infrastructure, potentially unlocking capital for network operations.

As part of the agreement, the companies plan to evaluate the launch of the Flowra-KorDA Delegation Program (FKDP), which would allocate sourced SOL to eligible validators. The firms intend to source SOL from institutional investors, lending providers, and the Solana Foundation. The project comes as the tokenized gold market has grown to a capitalization exceeding $6 billion.
