Floyd Mayweather Jr. withdraws $175 million fraud lawsuit

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has withdrawn his $175 million fraud lawsuit against former business associates Jona Rechnitz, Ayal Frist, Alexander Seligson, and Frist Apex Ventures, LLC. The notice to discontinue the claims was filed in New York County Supreme Court on September 24, 2026.

The original lawsuit alleged a sophisticated, multi-year scheme to divert Mayweather’s wealth. Key accusations included the claim that nearly $100 million in jewelry was pledged for only $13 million, a $7.5 million investment that failed to materialize, and the improper transfer of $15 million from a real estate settlement to Frist Apex Ventures, LLC. Other allegations involved the disappearance of a private jet.

Mayweather dropped the case “without prejudice,” allowing for the possibility of refiling in the future. The dismissal occurs as the boxer faces other legal challenges, including felony charges in Las Vegas regarding a $200,000 check and an IRS tax lien of $7.3 million.
