Floyd Schofield and Lucas Bahdi set for WBA lightweight title fight

Floyd Schofield Jr. and Lucas Bahdi are scheduled to fight for the vacant WBA lightweight title on October 10. The bout, which is expected to take place in Las Vegas, was finalized through an agreement between Golden Boy and Most Valuable Promotions, bypassing the WBA purse bid process.

Schofield (19-0, 13 KOs) holds the WBA No. 1 ranking and will be returning to the ring following a 16-month layoff. His last victory was a first-round knockout of Tevin Farmer in June 2025. This fight follows a previously scheduled title challenge against Shakur Stevenson that was canceled in early 2025 due to illness.

Bahdi (20-0, 15 KOs) enters the match as the WBA No. 2 ranked contender. The 32-year-old Canadian has a recent history of handing opponents their first professional losses and most recently secured a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Roger Gutierrez in August.
