Flórián tér interchange renovation nears reopening
Renovations of the Flórián tér interchange in Budapest are progressing, with the installation of new asphalt on the northern interchange currently underway. Despite challenges posed by extreme summer heat, BKK expects that traffic through the northern interchange could resume by the start of the school year in autumn.
Technical readiness for the bridge renovation, managed by KM Építő Kft., is expected to reach 93 percent by mid-August. Following the asphalt work, crews will focus on drainage, protective coatings against salt corrosion, installing steel components and safety barriers, and restoring stone paving. Official procedures for reopening the interchange are anticipated to begin in mid-August.
