European nations initiate seasonal flu vaccination campaigns
Several European nations are managing the rollout of seasonal influenza vaccinations, with some regions facing logistical challenges.
In North Macedonia, the first 30,000 doses have arrived, with vaccination scheduled to begin between October 16 and 25. The Ministry of Health aims to secure a total of 80,000 doses, prioritizing high-risk groups.
In Slovenia, the National Institute of Public Health has delayed the start of vaccinations to November 2 to account for supply delays affecting multiple European countries. Authorities expect to receive 100,000 doses by the end of October.
Switzerland is also experiencing delivery delays affecting approximately 40 percent of doses, though the Federal Office of Public Health maintains there is no shortage. To manage the rollout, a second national vaccination week has been organized for late November.
In Serbia, the Health Center Niš has commenced vaccinations as of October 14, with specific protocols in place for high-risk individuals, including those with chronic respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.
