Fluence Energy cuts 2026 guidance due to Houston plant delays
Fluence Energy has lowered its fiscal 2026 guidance for the second time in several months, citing production delays at its contract manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. The company now expects fiscal 2026 revenue to be approximately $2.4 billion, a significant decrease from the previous midpoint projection of $3 billion.
Additionally, the company forecasts an adjusted EBITDA loss of roughly $200 million, compared to a previously anticipated loss of about $10 million. Following the announcement, Fluence shares experienced an after-hours slump of approximately 18%.
CEO Julian Nebreda attributed the impact to supply chain issues and a slower-than-planned ramp-up at the Houston plant. Despite these setbacks, management expressed confidence in long-term opportunities, noting that much of the revenue is covered by an existing backlog and that some sales have been pushed into fiscal 2027. The company has been working to onshore its US supply chain, utilizing domestic manufacturing for battery modules and enclosures to align with US regulatory and tax credit frameworks.
