Flumeri to hold major August festivals for Santa Maria Assunta and San Rocco

The parish of Santa Maria Assunta in Flumeri, Avellino, will host a series of solemn celebrations in honor of its patron saints, Santa Maria Assunta and San Rocco, from Friday 14 August to Sunday 16 August 2026. Activities include multiple Holy Rosaries, Masses, the traditional raising and blessing of the lily, and the procession of the statues of the saints through the town, accompanied by the "Città di Andretta" band concert and a fireworks display by the Colangelo company of Avigliano.

A novena runs from 2 August to 14 August, with daily rosaries and evening Masses. Special events feature the translation of San Rocco’s statue on 2 August, the unction of the sick on 10 August, and the archbishop Mons. Davide Carbonaro presiding over the main Eucharistic celebration on 14 August. The festivities conclude with a final series of Masses on 16 August dedicated to San Rocco.
