Fluminense and Flamengo demand multi‑million‑euro fees for defenders

Fluminense announced it will not negotiate for less than €8 million for Argentine centre‑back Freytes, after previously turning down a €5 million bid from Italy's Bologna. The club says the defender’s recent performances have raised his market value and it is willing to consider offers that meet the new price ceiling.

Flamengo also rejected a €10 million offer (about R$58 million) from the English‑based Grupo City for 19‑year‑old centre‑back João Victor. The proposal, aimed at moving the player to one of Grupo City’s European affiliates, was turned down as the club believes Victor can develop further at Flamengo. Earlier, Ajax had offered €8 million for the same player, which was likewise declined.
