Chapecoense defeats Fluminense 2-1 in Brasileirão
Chapecoense secured a 2-1 victory over Fluminense during the 32nd round of the Brasileirão at Arena Condá. Yannick Bolasie opened the scoring for the home side in the eighth minute following a defensive error, and Giovanni Augusto scored the decisive second goal early in the second half.
Fluminense managed to equalize in the 29th minute of the first half through Guga, who finished a play initiated by a Hulk header. Despite controlling much of the possession, Fluminense struggled with creativity and appeared to be affected by their recent elimination from the Libertadores semifinals.
The loss leaves Fluminense in fifth place with 51 points, distancing them from the G-4 zone. Chapecoense remains in last place with 21 points, though the win provides a temporary boost in their fight against relegation.
